Regular Questions

Each syndicate runs for 4 years from the date of vessel delivery, with the option to extend to 5 years. This keeps the boats new and maintenance overheads low.

Based on a 1/6 share, you are entitled to 54 bookable days per year. These are divided into 18 peak days (weekend days/public holidays) and 36 non-peak days (weekdays).

UNLIMITED standby days are able to be used when your boat is not booked, after 3 PM the day before or by 10 AM the day of booking

Vessel insurance is organised through The Yacht Collective. Owners are responsible for any insurance claim excess arising from their use.

Our Yacht Collective managed boats come fully equipped with:

– Bow/Stern thrusters or joystick control (model-dependent)
– Diesel heating
– Upgraded engine options for better fuel efficiency and performance
– Premium interior fitouts with comfy bedding
– Full cooking facilities, including a stainless steel BBQ
– Built-in power inverters and Shore power for 240VAC use

We also provide essential safety gear, a rigid hull inflatable tender with outboard, LPG bottles, quality towels and linens, and everyday provisions. Customization requests are considered, subject to shareholder discretion.

Certainly! You have the flexibility to own multiple shares in a single boat.

As the vessel is privately owned, you are welcome to take the boat wherever you would like within the waters of the East Coast of the North Island. The boat must be returned to its base in Auckland for turnaround, unless mutually agreed prior.

We recommend all drivers hold a minimum NZ Coastguard Dayskipper Certificate. We can arrange booking of home study or a short course for you by request.

We also have the option of a bookable commercial skipper.

The boat’s syndicate agreement typically runs for four years with an option to extend to five, but you can still sell at any time using our brokerage service! Should an owner wish to upgrade or switch to a different model, this can be arranged.

As responsible boaties ourselves and with a primary aim of owner safety and enjoyment, we recognise that training and education are an important part of our business. We also know that this protects your investment.
